Patrick Stewart
Sir Patrick Stewart urodził się 13 lipca 1940 roku w Mirfield, Yorkshire w Wielkiej Brytanii. Od dziecka interesował się teatrem. Już w wielku 12 lat rozpoczął swą sceniczną przygodę ze szkolnymi lub amatorskimi trupami. W wieku 15 lat porzucił szkołę i został reporterem w lokalnej gazecie. Jednakże wydawca wyrzucił go za to, iż więcej czasu spędzał w teatrze niż w pracy. Potem Patrick przez wiele lat pracował jako sprzedawca mebli, a za zaoszczędzone pieniądze zamierzał uczyć się aktorstwa i dramatrurgii. Dopiero w 1957 roku "Bristol Old Vic Theatre School" zaakceptowała jego podanie. W 1959 roku zadebiutował na scenie. W roku 1966 dołączył do "Royal Shakespeare Company", z którym był związany przez 27 lat. Rok 1971 to debiut Patricka na Brodwayu, a konkretnie sztuka "Sen nocy letniej". W 1974 roku zadeiutował w TV, a w 1975 roku w kinie. Wkrótce sam zaczął także pisać i reżyserować na potrzeby teatru. W 1979 roku dostał prestiżową nagrodę "Oliviera" za sztukę "Antoniusz i Kleopatra". W połowie lat 80. przeniósł się do Los Angeles. W 1987 roku zagrał w serialu "Star Trek: Następne pokolenie" jako kapitan Jean-Luc Picard, a rola ta przyniosła mu rozgłos i sławę. W 1989 roku pokazał swą jednoosobową wersję "Opowieści Wigilijnej" Karola Dickensa. Pod koniec lat 90. zdobył tytuł "Człowieka Roku" na Brodwayu i zaczął pojawiać się w wielu filmach, jak i w przedstawieniach, w tym także w teatrze w Waszyngtonie. Zagrał między innymi w "Teorii spisku", "Folwarku zwierzęcym" i w trzech częściach "X-Mena". To dzięki tym produkcjom stał się jednym z najsławniejszych i najpopularniejszych aktorów Hoolywoodu. Również jego zarobki skoczyły do góry. Za "Star Trek VIII: Pierwszy kontakt" dostał "zaledwie" 5.000.000 $, natomiast już za "Star Trek X: Nemesis" - 14.000.000 $.
